Bettor Ed Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bettor Ed (“Bettor Ed,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit bettored.org (the “Site”) or use our products and tools, including SlipSync (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Site or Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1) Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from service providers you use to access our Services.

A) Information you provide

This may include:

  • Account information: name, email address, login credentials (or authentication tokens), and account settings

  • Support and communications: messages you send to us (including emails and support requests)

  • Billing information: if you purchase a plan, our payment providers process your payment details (we typically receive limited billing metadata like plan type, billing status, and transaction IDs)

B) SlipSync data (bet logging data)

If you use SlipSync, we may collect and store:

  • Uploaded images: bet slip screenshots and any other images you upload

  • OCR text: text extracted from your uploaded images

  • Parsed/structured bet data: details derived from OCR text, such as sportsbook name, bet type, teams/players, odds, stake, market, event date/time, and other fields you add or edit

  • CSV imports/exports: the data in CSV files you import into SlipSync, and the files you export/download from SlipSync

Important detail: You told us you only send OCR text to OpenAI for parsing. We do not send your uploaded images to OpenAI.

C) Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site or use the Services, we may automatically collect:

  • Device and technical data: browser type, device type, operating system, language settings

  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, clicks, timestamps, and basic performance diagnostics (like errors/crashes)

  • Approximate location data: inferred from IP address at a city/region level (not precise GPS)

2) How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services (including logging bets, displaying your grid, and calculating stats like ROI, profit, and CLV)

  • Process uploads and imports (including OCR and parsing)

  • Improve and maintain the Services (debugging, performance monitoring, feature development, and quality improvements)

  • Communicate with you (support responses, product updates, service notices)

  • Security and fraud prevention (protecting accounts, preventing abuse, enforcing terms)

We do not sell your personal information.

3) How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run the Services and comply with the law.

A) Service providers (processors)

We use trusted service providers that process information on our behalf. For SlipSync, examples include:

  • Google Cloud Vision API for OCR (extracting text from your uploaded bet slip screenshots)

  • OpenAI for parsing (converting OCR text into structured bet details)

  • Firebase (Google) for hosting, storage, and database infrastructure

These providers are permitted to process information only to provide services to us and are expected to protect it.

B) Legal and safety

We may share information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request

  • enforce our terms and policies

  • protect the security, integrity, and safety of Bettor Ed, our users, or others

C) Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

D) What we do not do

  • We do not share your betting data with sportsbooks.

  • We do not share your personal information with third-party marketers.

  • We do not use advertising pixels (Meta/Google Ads/TikTok/X) for cross-site targeted advertising based on your activity.

4) Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • keep the Site working properly (core functionality)

  • understand usage patterns and improve performance (basic analytics)

  • remember preferences (where applicable)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit certain features or cause parts of the Services to function incorrectly.

5) Data Storage, Security, and Retention

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to:

  • provide the Services you request

  • comply with legal obligations

  • resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

If you request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete your personal information, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
